TIMBER MARKETS AND PRICING According to Forbes." The pandemic wreaked havoc on the lumber market in 2021 as families fled urban areas in favor of finding homes in suburbia or rural areas. However, that increased demand ran into problems at lumber mills who couldn’t find enough workers to process felled trees into usable building materials." 

Prices are constantly changing in the lumber industry due to economic factors, the pandemic, and demand for housing; which caused many to leave the city to find homes in rural or suburbia areas, and seasonally low inventories. When considering selling your timber consider not only the trends but also the demand for the type of trees you are harvesting. White oak prices continue to rise because of the demand for whisky barrels.
